The Village Boutique has an immediate opening for a Social Media Manager.
Since 1993, the Village Boutique has been the destination for high-end clients looking for unique, custom-made, expertly tailored, authentic African attire and accessories for the whole family. We successfully transitioned from a brick and mortar store in 2012 to a mostly online presence, and are looking for someone with the passion and maturity to amplify the beauty and quality of the brand and increase website traffic and conversion.
The Social Media Manager would be responsible for all elements of digital strategy, content planning, and implementation. Since this is a small, family-owned business, this person would need to be self-directed and creative, able to manage vendors and other contingent staff, but also be able to work well with the owner and learn the particularities of this niche in the fashion industry.
Plan/manage photo shoots and short video promotions
Content planning and management on Facebook, Instagram, and the store website
Capable of developing strategies to improve email marketing initiatives (using existing curated lists and an MailChimp account)
Basic website content maintenance (login, click, and upload and describe products after photo shoots)
Creating and implementing CRM strategy for existing and new customers
Answering occasional inquiries on FB and IG accounts
Passion for ethnic/African fashion
Experience in content creation, with Photoshop, Canva, and/or video editing skills a plus
Interest in, experience with, or flair for online retail sales/marketing
An understanding of Facebook and Instagram ads/analytics
An understanding of the Instagram “Click to Buy”/”View Shop” feature
Schedule: Flexible, part-time, but consistent work is available
Salary: Depends on experience
